Summary

My role on the project:

My responsibilities on Infinitesimals included, but were not limited to:
– Defining metrics used throughout all level designs to ensure all combat and platforming challenges are cohesive, consistent, and feel good to navigate.
– Blocking out the open world and it’s varied regions/zones, ensuring that they are fun to traverse, intuitive to navigate, and fulfilled the goals that were set by the game’s overall design, narrative, and technical requirements.
– Rapidly prototyping level mechanics and interactions.
– Helping to define Enemy AI behaviours.
– Designing and iterating gameplay encounters that support multiple different playstyles (stealth, combat, etc) to offer creative and engaging options for players to interact with the game.
– Crafting campaign missions, side missions, and open world activities that utilized the game’s open world environment, core gameplay mechanics, characters, and rewards to provide players with varied, thrilling, and memorable content.
– Implementing quest and narrative events (free vs staged dialogue, placeholder cinematics, quest/mission logic, etc).
– Collaborating with other disciplines to imagine and build immersive environments, identify required assets or features for world-building, and deliver a high-quality player experience.
– Constantly iterate my designs based on feedback received from internal/external playtests and team member reviews.
– Creating and managing the Level Design team’s tasks and design documentation within Notion.
– Providing qualitative and constructive feedback to other departments and all aspects of the game.
